Okay... I freaking hate it when people stand in a doorway and have a conversation.... especially at work. Actually... I hate it whenever people stand right in the middle of somewhere others need to walk. I guess the flip side of it is that I definitely do it, especially when I'm at someone's flat

... I was about to say... But while we're on the topic of pet peeves you yourself do all the time... I really hate it when people leave me gifts or donations and don't tell me who they're from. It's just mean. I want to be able to say thank you and leave you a nice note or something... but you have stolen that joy from me when you leave something anonymously! Plus then I spend way too much time going through all the possibilities in my head trying to figure out who it might be. It just gives me a headache. But, I do it to people all the time... So I really shouldn't complain.

My pet peeve? GLAD cling wrap. It is a completely useless roll of plastic. It's whole market is the fact that it doesn't stick to itself and get all tangled. Which is true. IT DOESN't STICK TO ANYTHING. The very thought of it makes me MAD (both meanings), certainly not some tacky form of "glad".
"Don't get GLAD, go mad."

It'll be no use their putting their heads down and saying "Come up again, dear!" I shall only look up and say "Who am I then? Tell me that first, and then, if I like being that person, I'll come up: if not, I'll stay down here till I'm somebody else"

Ugh, I know, right? Somebody at the Rock did that to me when they gave me money to keep living (I was flat out broke and living on bread - which is cheaper than pita. This was BAD, because I have a yeast intolerance, and it was somewhat mildly making me rather ill), someone just handed me an envelope with monies in it and said that "somebody" donated it to me. I had no idea what to do, was so lost and confused. Part of me wanted to give it back, too. The larger part, really. I don't like free-loading -.-'

Yeah... it's not for everyone, but it's good.
I'd suggest doing an internship at Tauranga House Of Prayer (NZ) or International House Of Prayer (USA) ahead of a DTS.

DTS is a lot more missions focused, whereas the THOP and IHOP programs are more prayer-focused; in the end, I believe prayer-focused training is a lot more effective in growing strong Christians.

ummm... good segue dcole I personally enjoy furniture. It's better than sleeping on the floor. ha ha. Yah, that is an interesting suggestion Aaron. It really depends on where you want to be going though. If you're just wanting to strengthen your walk with Christ, then yah, IHOP and THOP would definitely do that even more effectively in some aspects... but there's a lot going for DTS, especially if your goal is to figure out if missions is right for you. But then, I don't know all of how an internship at IHOP and THOP works. I may be totally off.

IHOP and THOP are missions focused... their approach is just closer to what has been done Biblically and historically; a more mature approach to it, if you will. Their missions training is a lot deeper and more foundational than YWAM's.

I'd really like to do an IHOP internship someday. My friend Andrew just finished one and he says it was such an amazing experience! One thing I think would be especially neat about it is that it's more one-on-one with God, while a DTS is more like a "team". I believe BOTH are good. The church is a body.
